Kathua case plea dismissed : Supreme Court

On the grounds that the probe was allegedly motivated, a plea by an accused of kathua rape and murder case was dismissed by the Supreme Court.

In plea, the accused requested for fresh investigation of the case by an independent separate authority. He pleaded taking in account the article 21 of constitution which covers right to life and personal liberty of a person, preserving their fundamental rights.

The Supreme Court dismissed the plea saying that the accused could have raised this issue before the lower court which was in pathankot during the ongoing trial.
